His nearly 40-year career included landing a burning plane in Vietnam and being hijacked as a commercial airline pilot.
Carl Gamble was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and grew up in Madison, Alabama.
Carl Gamble, First African American Pilot to be Inducted into The Madison County Hall of Heroes since it was formed in 1948, New Veteran’s Adult Family Home in Huntsville, AL has now been named after him.
